Many of use like to work on our images in Camera RAW before we work on them in Photoshop. Even if I did not shoot an image in RAW mode I often open the JPEG in Camera Raw by selecting Open AS > Camera RAW from the File menu in Photoshop. The latest versions, Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) makes this process easier. To use this new filter:
1. Duplicate Background layer. (Never, ever, ever make any adjustments to the Background layer unless you want someone to stake you to an ant hill!)
2. On the menu select Filter > Camera RAW.
3. Apply the RAW filter and open your image in Photoshop to finish editing.
NOTE: IF YOU BUY A NEW CAMERA YOU MAY HAVE TO GO THE WEB AND DOWNLOAD THE VERSION OF RAW THAT WORKS WITH YOUR CAMERA.
